Guillermo Pinon
President & Community Advocate
Guillermo is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and retired youth and High School football coach who loves working and mentoring our communities youth.
Guillermo started working with kids as young as 5 years old at the age of 14 through the Los Angeles City Summer youth employment program. At the age of 16 Guillermo, was hired by LA City Parks and Recs as a little league baseball umpire where he further developed his skills to work and communicate with kids. A year after graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School (El Sereno) Guillermo was hired as an assistant football coach which gave him the opportunity to work with and mentor hundreds of young men throughout his coaching career.
His personal goal continues to be to give back to the community that has shaped him to whom he is and to mentor and inspire today’s youth the same way he was mentored and inspired to make a difference. His love for family and community inspires him to give back and volunteer his time in various community events such as food drives, fundraisers that benefit the elderly and underserved communities.
From a professional standpoint, He is highly motivated to show by example that if you are disciplined and true to yourself, anything can be accomplished no matter your past or any challenging circumstances that come with growing up in a underserved community. He is a product of the same community he serves and can relate to the challenges of growing up with the lack of access to resources.
Guillermo’s experience as a business owner and Vice President of American Icon Autographs (A sport and celebrity memorabilia company) for the past 17 years has given him a network with ties to professional athletes and celebrities that is an invaluable tool to help bring resources to our communities. His newest business venture, Distrito Catorce (Boyle Heights) is a hub for everything that is about Food, Art, Community and Culture. Distrito Catorce is used to highlight the talent in the community and is fueled by collaborating with local artist of all kinds.
Proudly born in Boyle Heights and raised in El Sereno by his parents both immigrants from Mexico, he values the hard work and sacrifices that were made to give him the opportunity to better the quality of life for himself, his family and those in his community.
